About the register
Since 2016, 1,700 people have registered interest in self-build in Buckinghamshire. The council has permitted 340 plots in that time.
Of those registrations, 1,674 are on Part 1 (where the legal duty to grant permissions applies) and 26 are on Part 2 (subject to local eligibility tests).
That leaves an outstanding deficit of 1,240 plots — Period 7 (2022).
The case for action
1,700 people in Buckinghamshire have joined the self-build register since 2016.
The council is legally required to grant enough plot permissions to meet that demand. In the last 12 months, only 25 were granted.
